Even though we aren´t a “party hostel”, we like to bring people together, be responsible for the footprints we leave behind, and make you feel right where you belong. Earth is nothing but a huge family, so we firmly believe that traveling should always be like “moving from one home to another”.

THE CarpeDM EXPERIENCE
Staying at Casa Carpedm feels like hanging out at mom’s, (familiar and safe) but then, at the very entrance of the Historic Center of Quito. This combination of worlds will make your stay way more interesting. On one hand: ancient churches, museums, narrow and historic streets, local markets, and Ecuadorian handicrafts, and on the other: a comfortable room, a cozy bed, a simple yet tasty breakfast, and Wi-Fi everywhere, all the time.
Our travel agency, located just one block away, makes it even better. Our famous Free Walking Tour (around the Old Town) is only the starting point, the rest is really up to you. We can help you organize Spanish Classes, Volunteering Opportunities, day tours around Quito and the Amazon, and even discover the Enchanted Islands of the Galapagos.

Seize the Day: Carpe diem is a phrase from a Latin poem by Horace (Odes 1.11). It is popularly translated as “seize the day.” making the most current opportunities because life is short! Carpe diem has been modified to CarpeDM to reflect an evolution in meaning adding the element of “Do More” Do More for yourself, for your community, family, and the environment.

Canadian/Ecuadorian visionary
After years of working in the corporate world, sets off to his ancestral roots in Ecuador to reconnect with his family and his heritage. Little did he know that this journey would lead him to found one of the most reputable travel companies in the region. CarpeDM Adventures!
We are all inspired by his professionalism and wisdom!
In 2015 Paul founded Casa CarpeDM to provide the best hosting service. In 2020 Paul started new projects. You can always find him in CarpeDM Adventures.

FHER MERINO
GENERAL MANAGER
Ecuadorian dreamer
Started her internship at CarpeDM in 2010, working as a professional tour guide since then. Took her time off to start her second career as a theater actress where she had a chance to experience life in a different way.
During the pandemic, her passion and compromise made her our CEO and as part of her healing process, she has been working hard to keep Casa open for all of you. Dont get surprised to see her all the time in Casa CarpeDM, because is her home too.
In 2021 Fher founded River 1.5 in honor of River Alejandro P.M who guides from heaven our CarpeDM dreams.
DANIELA MERINO
CEO
Ecuadorian Fighter
Daniela is the youngest CEO, she started working at 17 years old, right after she finished high school. Her passion and love helped to keep open Casa CarpeDM during COVID-19 times. When everyone was closing up the tourism business her faith was the main ingredient to stay strong and keep going on.
She learned about tourism, management, and customer service by watching Paul and Fher. Danny is definitely the heart of CarpeDM. Now she is studying psychology in Buenos Aires to help everyone heal. Wait a few years for her new CarpeDM projects 😉
LUCÌA MOYA
Ecuadorian hard worker
Lucìa came to CarpeDM to help us with the cleaning service and thanks to her great work she became one of the most important pillars. Lucìa came with zero English and even though she didn’t have the chance to finish primary school, she developed a great capacity of English understanding and more skills that makes her invaluable.
KATHY CORO
Ecuadorian good vibes girl
Kathy is the newest CarpeDM worker, her energy and smile fill all the spaces. She studied tourism and every day her knowledge is increasing in order to help all our guests. She has such a great and energetic Latin vibe.
