Amazon is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Ecuador. The two Natural Reserves you will find are Cuyabeno and Yasuní, both located deeper in the jungle. The difference between one and the other, to be honest, is just the price. Cuyabeno is a popular destination in order to save some money but in terms of wildlife, both are just amazing.
In both reserves, you will be hiking during the day and also at night, all of them in order to see wildlife. You will see different types of birds, parrots, insects, reptiles like caimans, and anacondas, and so much more. If you are lucky enough maybe pink dolphins and sloths. No words for the sunset in the jungle! You will love the view!
One thing I want to clarify is about the days in the jungle, if you choose 4 days, it really means two full days. On the first day, you will start from the entrance of the Natural area, you will take a canoe to get to the lodge (2.5 hours) and after lunch, you will start the first activity then you have two full days and the last day you will have a short activity and then come back to Quito. One more thing you need to keep in mind is that once you get into the Reserve you won’t have internet, any phone signal, and no grocery stores. But no worries you will have electricity in order to recharge batteries (3-4 hours at night)
About your budget, we can offer you some options, but just to give you an idea, in Cuyabeno 4/3 prices start at $290 – $320 and Yasuní about $800 – $1500.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
You will need your own headlamps for the nocturnal activities. And the lodge will provide you with boots for the excursions, and rain ponchos.
